Vehicle History
LA697 was new in Glasgow Corporation Livery, and was the first Atlantean to receive the GGPTE livery in July 1973. Withdrawn from passenger service during September 1980 and converted to a driver training vehicle. Withdrawn from these duties in November 1997 and was purchased for preservation in 1998. She was later rescued from the scrap man once more and is now a member of the Beith Transport Museum collection.
Depot Histories: New to Newlands Garage in 1973, Transferred to Parkhead during July 1987 then transferred to Gartcraig in April 1977 and to Possilpark in April 1980. LA697 became a training bus and was allocated to the Knightswood Depot Driving School in September 1980, Larkfield Driving School in April 1982, then back to Knightswood in 1986, then to Larkfield Driving School again in 1996.
Liveries: Delivered in the final Glasgow Corporation Livery. Repainted into Greater Glasgow PTE livery in July 1973. Upon conversion to driver trainer LA697 was repainted all-over white. Received Strathclyde's Buses driver recruitment livery in June 1990. Repainted into present all white July 2000. She will be completed in future in GGPTE livery.
